Profile on representative devices. Measure cold start, sustained memory, thermal behavior, energy, and cancellation—not only median response time.
Resize media before analysis, limit parallel inference, reuse expensive resources carefully, and move non-urgent work away from interaction-critical moments. Provide degraded behavior for constrained devices. A feature that is intelligent but drains the phone is not production-ready.
